18. Darren’s Birthday Party
The next few days Aaron and Denise become even closer. I have noticed that Aaron have a strong liking to Denise. A couple of days later I was planning a surprise birthday party for Darren. I invited all his friends and even Elaine since she was his gamily friend. I also invited some family friends of mine that are good friends of Darren. At the party, one of Darren’s friends brought Keith with him to the party. I handed Denise the part of greeting the guest and making sure the party is running smoothly while I took Darren out to stop him from being in the way of the surprise. Aaron insists on helping Denise to accompany her and in case she gets cold, he has a cup of hot chocolate and a scarf for her.
“ Darren, lets go back home and wasn’t that movie great,”
“ Yes it was, you sure you want to go home. Why not have dinner first?” asked Darren.
“ Yes I’m sure but, before we go back I want to give you this.” Darren open the gift and he found it was a tie clip that has a heart on it with a slot to put a picture in it.
“ I always see you looking at this in the shops so I thought I buy one for you. Happy Birthday, Darren”
“ this was expensive. You didn’t have to...”
“ I did, because I know you wanted it. Plus for all you have done for me.” I grabbed the tie clip and placed it on his tie before I wrapped my arm around his and walked towards the limo. We arrived home and I told Darren i wanted to show him something so I led him into the hall.
“ SURPRISE!!!” Everyone cried. Darren looked at me and I whispered “Happy birthday. This is your Birthday party. I prepared it just for you,” before I kissed him on the cheek and I rushed into the crowd of people. Darren was talking to his friends before the stage lights turned on and I stood there ready to sing.
“ This song is written and composed by me which is a gift for my boyfriend Darren. It is called ‘Can’t let Go’,” While I was singing, I noticed Elaine and Keith at the back, they both seem to be by themselves and away from the crowd of people. As I finish the song I got the band to play other songs. Darren was enjoying himself with his friends so I left for the open attic which is located above the backstage. I was up there with Yuki, Belinda and Denise. The roof of the attic was open and You could feel the cold winter breeze which Denise did not enjoy.
“ I love this lovely breeze even though it is so cold,” I said.
“ No wonder you have the power of wind. But I don’t like it at all.” Denise commented. After a few minutes the guys came up; Darren sat next to me warming me up just by putting his arm around me. Aaron brought a blanket and a bowl of hot soup for Denise. Gaara and Belinda Huddle together while Yuki was natural use to the cold as she has ice power. However, Yuko and Yuki sat next to each other with arms in arms. As the night went on, the party died down; people left; Belinda, Gaara, Denise, Aaron, Yuki, and Yuko left the attic. This left Darren and I in the attic, watching the stars.
“ So, what do you thing about today?”
“ It was great, makes me love you a lot more.”
“ Umm... Look at the stars, reminds me of our first dance even though it isnt under same set of stars.”
“ Even if it isn’t under the same stars but we can still have a beautiful dance together.” So both of us were in the attic, under the stars dancing together. The next day I heard from my family friend that keith and Elaine seem to really get along at Darren’s birthday party. I hope that they will like each other in the future.
