10. My first Valentines Day
“ Dora, It is 9:00. How long did you ride your horse?” asked Belinda when I entered the house.
“ Oh, I guess I loss track of time”
“ Lose track of time!? The sun has already set and it is pitch black, how did you lose track of time?”
“ *Yawn* I’m kind of tired. I’m going to sleep, Good night.” I power-walked into my room. The whole night I wasn’t able to sleep, so I decided to get up again wear my riding suit and take another horse out for a ride and then get to school.
“ Ok, time for school. Let’s go” said Yuko.
“ Hey, where is Dora. I haven’t seen her all morning” asked Belinda.
“ Oh, the maids said she left the house at 6:00 to ride abby and then left for school on Blossom.” replied Damien. Everyone was shocked at the news and wanted to check if that was true so they rushed to find me in the school in one of the music rooms. I was sing a song that made while I was riding my horse. Gaara and Yuko sat down to watch me sing while Belinda and Yuki came up to see the lyrics and sang along.
“ That’s a nice song. Who wrote this song?” asked Yuko
“ Oh, it’s...”
“ It is such an emotional song. It really showed the composers sorrow and pain of losing someone she cares so much about. You can tell that she can’t forget him, so who wrote it?” interrupted Yuko
“ Well, umm... * Ding * Ding * Ding * The bell rang lets get to class” I said while walking out of the music room. The following 2 days, I couldn’t eat, sleep or drink and only able to do other things to distract me especially riding and singing.
“ I’m getting really worried, Dora has eaten or drank anything nor sleep these past few days, ever since Darren has disappeared.” said Belinda
“ Me too, it is like she will not eat, drink or sleep unless she sees Darren. I wonder what happened between them” said Yuki.
“ Belinda, Yuki. Where is that bastard Darren? I’m going to kill him! Dora looks weaker and weaker each day” yelled Keith
“ Calm down, Keith. We are not to sure. ourselves” replied Belinda as Keith angrily stormed off, he wants to help me but doesn’t know how. Belinda and Yuki wanted to find out the reason why I am unable to eat, drink or sleep, so they came to find me on the horse track. Blossom and I were practicing for the jumping competition where I suddenly felt dizzy as the world was spinning faster than being on a roller coaster. Last thing I remember was my horse slowing down and I slowly sliding off Blossom. Waking up I was in my room with a drip connected to me. Remembering that I had to take care of Blossom and Abby, I took out the drip, got dressed and walked towards the door.
“ Dora, What are doing?” asked Belinda
“ Oh, Belinda Hi umm...well... I need to take care of Blossom and Abby, right now”
“ Don’t worry about that, one of the maids is doing it. I need to talk to you”
“ Umm... sure... I guess”
“ What is wrong? You are not eating, drinking or sleeping. This is really not healthy. I know that it has something to do with Darren. I can see it through the song you made and what your doing to yourself.”
“ Umm... I don’t understand what you talking about, Belinda”
“ Dora~ Tell me the truth, please”
“ I... I don’t...”
“ Dora~ Please...”
“ ... Fine, I will tell you, I will tell you...” Me and Belinda were in my room talking about the recent events, this was a little overwhelming for me and I started to tear up. Letting all my feelings out made me feel a little bit better and the next few days I had improved in the way that I would eat and drink. Valentine’s day has arrived it was the worst and best day of my life. In the morning, I had already felt dizzy and wanting to faint but I insisted to go to school allowing me take my mind of somethings. In the first period a delivery man came into our class.
“ Excuse me, is their young lady called Dora Zhang in here” asked the delivery man
“ Yes we do. Dora is down the back. Dora please put your hand up to show the delivery man where you are” said the teacher. The man came in with a bouquet of 100 flowers and asked me to sign for the delivery. I noticed everyone’s eyes were on me and the flowers, I felt my face turn red but that could also be for another reason. I put the flowers next to me and continued to listen to the teacher. In period 2 another delivery man came knocking on the classroom door.
“ Excuse me, I got a delivery for Dora Zhang”
“ She is at the back. The one with the flowers next to her” replied our 2nd period teacher. The delivery man came in with 7 balloons each with a word on it. It said “100 flowers represents my love for you”, again I signed for it and place it next to me where the flowers were placed. The whole class whispered and all wandering who sent all these presents. I personally hoped it would be Darren but what are the chances of that since he has disappeared and probably still upset with me. 2nd period ended and I left for dance class just to keep myself busy. Recess came and gone before I realised it but I can now distract myself with work. For the third time today another delivery man came and again it was for me. This time is was smaller than the other two, in fact it was in a small rectangular box. I signed for it again and open the small box to find a beautiful bracelet with a heart and wings on it. I put the box on my desk and wore the bracelet as I really like it while half hoping this was something Darren gave. The rest of the lesson was a haze and feeling more and more cold.
“ Excuse me, I got a deliver for Dora Zhang” Hearing that at the door in period 4 snapped me out of my hazy state. The teacher didn’t say anything and allow him to enter. The delivery man follow the direction of the eyes that pointed at me. This time he delivered a box of chocolate that are all in a heart shape. Being surrounded by presents was a little awkward as most people had one Valentine’s day present while so far I had 4. Lunch time approached but I couldn’t find strength to go to the school’s stables so I stayed in class and did the homework that was left for us. Period 5 was similar to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th period where another delivery man came in but this time the delivery man gave me a huge teddy bear. The teddy bear was extremely cute and soft but it must of been very expensive. 5th period ended and 6th period had started, I suspected another delivery man to pop up but there was none. The bell rang for the end of school and I had to find away to get all these presents back home. I realised that teddy bear had a card attached to its’ hand. I opened and inside wrote.
I didn’t really know how to
express my love for you
so I decided to get all these
presents with the money I earn
recently. Come to the music
hall for your special gift
and to hear me confess
my true feelings
to you
P.S. I’m sorry for what I have
done last time and
disappearing without telling
you.
I stared at the card blankly for a few seconds before gathering all my strength to rush to the music hall. I open the door and on the stage stood Darren, he held a microphone while a band was playing behind him.I watched him sing while I walked closer and closer to him. I had tears of joy, I can’t believe he would do something like that. The song he sang was very beautiful and it made me feel at peace; I couldn’t help but jumped and hugged him as he sang.
“ I made this song for you, it is called “ Give Me Your Love”. I want to be with you forever. Your the love of my life. The minute I stormed off, I already started to miss you. But I wanted to confess to you in the most special way I can, so I started to earn money so I can buy these gifts for you. I really, really love you”
“ I...I... really.. lo...”
“ Dora!? Are you ok? Dora, wake up, Dora!!”
