5. Feelings Developing
The following morning, I left for school early as I had morning dance practice. As I walked through the school gates, I saw Darren walking in front. Watching his back my heart started pounding, this feeling was like my feelings towards that boy at the party.
* Bump *
“ Oh, I’m so sorry... Darren”
“ Oh, Hi Dora. You should be more careful next time.”
“Sorry,”
“ It is ok, lets go to the hall together” I walk besides him all the way to the hall, we started to chat about random stuff. During our conversation, I realized that we had a lot in common and he become more friendly outgoing then he was when I first met him. The more I got to know him, the more I felt closer to that little boy. The next following days during our dance practice we have become great friends. There was only on problem with being close to Darren and one advantage.
“ Hey Dora, stop being close to Darren or else” 1st girl threatened.
“ Yeah, you have so many guys to choose from. So... STAY AWAY!!” 2nd girl yelled.
“ I can be close to anyone I want to be with.” I replied
“ Then we have no choice but to...” 1st girl said.
“ STOP!!! What do you think your doing? It is my choice who I want to be friends with so, if your not happy with her then your not happy with me” interrupted Darren. The girls angrily stormed off while Darren will always turn towards me and apologize to me. Every time something like that happens I have a warm and happy feeling. Belinda and Yuki have also noticed that my mood has become even more happy and positive. The sunday’s musical performance has finally arrived and the hall was filled with family and friends of the people in our dance club. Between the crowd including Belinda, Yuki, Gaara and Yuko waiting to watch the musical. Most of the time me and Darren would be dancing and singing together. At the end, we had to look into each others eyes with our hands connected. Those few seconds with our hands in hands and eyes staring into each others eyes under the stages light took me back to that beautiful night under the bright moon with dancing stars. The curtains came down and we stood there for a while still in the same position until the teacher said that was great after a couple of minutes. Darren quickly drew away and avoid eye contact with me.
“ Dora, that was a great performance congrats.” cried Belinda and Yuki.
“ Thank you..” I replied. I looked back at Darren who was talking to Gaara and Yuko. I can’t believe how much he is like that boy and when I’m with him it is like I’m with that boy.
“ Dora, do you like Darren?”
“ What!? No... I mean... He reminds me of...you know..” I replied
“ Really!?” Yuki gasped
“ Maybe he is ? Why not ask if he is?” suggested Belinda. I shook my head as I quickly changing the topics.
