8. My Prince Revealed
One week after the princess was revealed, my mother had inform me that the annual party is going to be prepared and Darren is invited as he saved me from Damien’s bad friends. Gaara, Yuko, Yuki and Belinda was already VIP Quest as Gaara’s parents become a successful businessman in my mother’s company similar to Yuko’s parents. Belinda and Yuki are long line of best friends. Though the school camp is over and everyone has returned the six of us stay behind for a couple of days. Darren was in the hall standing on the balcony while holding a necklace.
“ Darren, I haven’t had time this week but I like to thank you for helping my Onee-sama” said Damien
“ It is ok,” replied Darren.
“ Do you like the view here?” asked Damien
“ Yeah, it is beautiful. Reminds me of... Hmm... Never mind.”
“ Well enjoy, yourself. I hope you like tonight’s annual party,”
I went with Belinda and Yuki to our underground shopping centre where we get our formal party dresses, heels, make-up, hairdos and jewelry.
“ Welcome to our annual party! Please enjoy the snack table and music.” announced my mother. I strolled towards the balcony grabbed my precious necklace out and holding on to it. Maybe the 10th year would be my lucky year to meet my prince.
“ Do you like hanging around the balcony.” asked Darren.
“ Yeah, there was one happy memory that had happened here.” I smiled. “ So, do you like the party” while I turned around and faced Darren.
“ Yeah, never really been to one except when... Is that your necklace?”
“ Oh, this. Yeah, it is my favourite. Every year on this day in this party I would wear it.”
“ Did you break it?”
“ How did you know? I did break it but not by accident though. I broke it because...” as I was telling my story I saw that he was holding something that was hidden under his shirt”
“... So I broke my necklace for him so I can one day find him”
“ So my guess was correct...”
“ Huh!?” Darren took of the necklace he was wearing around his neck, it was the other half of my pendant.
“ Your that boy!? The boy who helped me when I was five”
“ I guess I am” he smiled.
“ I cant believe you have kept this necklace even though I hoped you did. No wonder I felt a familar feeling when I’m around you”
“ You had that feeling as well, I thought it was just me “ Darren and I talked for hours on the balcony before heading inside for a dance. We saw Yuki and Yuko dancing together while Belinda and Gaara were dancing together not to mention arguing at the same time. As the annual party came to an end, I was asked to send off the guest. Darren came with me, but half way between he was acting very strange. I look at where he was staring and I found out that he was staring at Keith.
“ Dora, that was a lovely party well see you soon” said Keith and gave me a hug. Darren seem very unhappy about the event while Keith gave me a cheeky smile. I knew he did it purposely to irritate him and make him angry.
“ I don’t like that guy” grumbled Darren while saying my farewells to the guest I smiled as I knew that he really cared about me.
